Beech Class with Mrs Kitt, Mrs Hutson and

Mrs Guilliatt

Welcome to the Summer Term in Year 3.

This term we have a very busy and exciting schedule ahead of us including our school trip towards the end of term.

Our first focus will be learning about Forces and Magnets. We will be looking at the effects of forces, how magnets work and their everyday applications. This will then help us to design, construct and play our very own unique games using magnets and mechanisms. We will then be exploring and finding out about our local area including using mapping skills.

Mrs Hutson will continue to take the children to Spalding pool for their weekly swimming lesson. In P.E we will be hoping for as much nice weather as possible to ensure we can play ‘capture the castle’ and complete OAA in plenty of space.

Later on in the term we will be looking at Sherwood Forest and the stories of Robin Hood. We will be visiting the forest and learning all about life in medieval times. We will also practise our mapping and orienteering skills. Teeth and the digestive system will be our final scientific enquiry of the term.

Further information about the coverage of subjects can be found by clicking on the links below to the termly newsletter and Curriculum Overview.

This term our class assembly will be held on 5th of May at 2.45pm. We look forward to seeing you there.

We are all looking forward to a busy term in Year 3!
